Apollo (Ἀπόλλων) is the Olympian of light, music and prophecy, son of Zeus and Leto and twin of Artemis. Born on the island of Delos, he is shown as an ageless, long-haired youth crowned with laurel, with a lyre in his hands. At Delphi his oracle counselled cities for centuries, and the maxims carved there urged self-knowledge and balance. Poets honoured him as leader of the Muses, and Hellenic polytheists still keep his seventh-day festivals today.
A portrait of Apollo in the devotional painting style of Ancient Greek religion, where he is one of the twelve Olympians [1][4]. He is still honoured today by Hellenic polytheists, printed on museum-grade matte paper.
