Freyja, whose name means 'the Lady', is the Norse goddess of love, beauty and gold, but also of battle, seeing-magic and the dead. She drives a chariot drawn by two cats, wears the glittering necklace Brísingamen, and owns a cloak of falcon feathers that lets its wearer fly. In the old poems she is no one's prize: she bargains, grieves, rages and receives half the warriors slain in battle in her hall at Fólkvangr. Many Heathens honour her today.
A portrait of Freyja in the devotional painting style of Old Norse religion of the Viking Age, as recorded in the Poetic Edda, the Prose Edda and Ynglinga saga [1][2][9]. She is honoured today in Heathenry and Ásatrú [21][22]., printed on museum-grade matte paper.
