“Her name comes first.” Radha, Ladli Ji of Barsana.
The story behind the line. Say 'Radha Krishna' and her name comes first, and in Braj devotees greet each other with 'Radhe Radhe'. Gaudiya Vaishnavas honour her as Krishna's own energy of bliss, and some devotees worship her first of all. Her love for Krishna is understood as the soul's longing for God.
Radha is the cowherd girl of Barsana and Vrindavan, and her devotion to Krishna is central to bhakti for many Hindus. Gaudiya Vaishnavas honour her as Krishna's own blissful energy; other traditions call her his eternal consort; some devotees worship her first of all. In art she is golden and veiled, holding a lotus or garland beside the flute-playing Krishna in Vrindavan's groves. Her name comes first in the greeting Radhe Radhe, and the love she stands for is understood as the soul's longing for God.
The design and its line printed in a single ink on a heavyweight garment-dyed Comfort Colors tee in soft, lived-in colours: gold on the deep dyes, warm ink on the pale ones.
From The Deity Project, a living encyclopedia of the sacred.
Three ways to wear it: the classic tee is soft and lightweight ($29); the garment-dyed tee is heavier, with a softly faded, lived-in colour ($36); the garment-dyed one-ink tee prints the design and its line in a single ink, in soft earthy colours ($34).
