Jude Thaddeus was one of the twelve apostles, a relative of Jesus in Christian tradition, and not to be mistaken for Judas Iscariot. Because his name was so easily confused, believers say he was long overlooked, and so he became the saint people turn to when a situation feels beyond help. Artists show him in green, the colour of hope, with a small flame above his head for Pentecost, a medallion of Christ's face in his hand, and a club that recalls his martyrdom.
A portrait of St Jude Thaddeus in the devotional painting style of Christianity: one of the Twelve Apostles, venerated in the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic churches [1][2]. The Roman Catholic devotion to him as patron of desperate causes is especially strong, and he is revered as an apostle-founder of the Armenian Church [1][12]., printed on museum-grade matte paper.
