“Polite visitors welcome.” Baba Yaga, Grandmother Witch.

In East Slavic fairy tales, Baba Yaga is the old woman at the forest's edge whose hut turns on chicken legs and whose fence glows with skull lanterns. She sails the treetops in a mortar, steering with a pestle and sweeping her tracks away with a birch broom. Is she danger or help? Tellers leave it open: polite, brave visitors may leave with the fire they came for. Ivan Bilibin's 1900 illustrations gave her the look many people still picture.

The design and its line printed in a single ink on a heavyweight garment-dyed Comfort Colors tee in soft, lived-in colours: gold on the deep dyes, warm ink on the pale ones.

From The Deity Project, a living encyclopedia of the sacred.

Three ways to wear it: the classic tee is soft and lightweight ($29); the garment-dyed tee is heavier, with a softly faded, lived-in colour ($36); the garment-dyed one-ink tee prints the design and its line in a single ink, in soft earthy colours ($34).
