Parvati (पार्वती) means Daughter of the Mountain. Born to the Himalaya, she won the meditating Shiva through long, patient tapas, and together they raised Ganesha and Skanda. Devotees know her as gentle Uma, radiant Gauri and nourishing Annapurna, and Shaiva, Shakta and Smarta traditions each honour her in their own way. She is shown serene and crowned in a red sari, a lotus in her hand. Teej, Gauri Habba and Navaratri are kept in her name.
The design and its line printed in a single ink on a heavyweight garment-dyed Comfort Colors tee in soft, lived-in colours: gold on the deep dyes, warm ink on the pale ones.
From The Deity Project, a living encyclopedia of the sacred.
